Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Project Manager

As a key member of the IT team, you will serve as the liaison between IT and the business. You will advocate, champion and ensure business intentions are well integrated into the Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse (BI/DW) strategy and execution plan. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to develop and communicate technology models, processes, tools, standards and methodologies used in the BI/DW domains in support of business process areas and in alignment with the overall IT and business strategy. This position will report to the Smile Doctors Chief Information Officer.

Responsibilities

•  Drive strategic direction of Smile Doctors DW/BI Program, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external development partners to create impactful analytics on behalf of the enterprise.
•  Coordinate with business users to identify and prioritize reporting needs and the capability; provide technical subject matter expertise in report requirements discussions.
•  Promote adoption and use to new and current users by showing the benefits of DW/BI capabilities to each engaged stakeholder group.
•  Develop and manage sanctioned data sources on behalf of business users and enterprise reporting.
•  Oversee the user onboarding and training process to the DW/BI platform
•  Teach business users the mechanics and value of using DW/BI capabilities to support more effective and efficient management through use of data within their area of responsibility.
•  Deliver DW/BI training to business users as required and address ongoing functionality questions.
•  Actively manage developed content for continual process improvement based on delivery experience and iterative insights.
•  Monitor and evaluate DW/BI program's effectiveness, success and ROI.
•  Assist in the mentoring of users and dedicated developers as the DW/BI program matures.
•  Support users when issues arise that require a technical understanding of DW/BI performance and functionality
•  Work with the Smile Doctors community to problem solve and facilitate additional ways of using DW/BI data and dashboards to improve workflow and efficiencies.

Requirements

• 8+ years proven experience implementing business intelligence solutions in a large enterprise environment.
• At least two years of experience leading development in an Agile environment
• Strong background in applications development methodologies, SDLC, Agile/Scrum and other IT industry standards.
• Have managed complex, multi-platform BI/DW environments.
• Knowledge of dental and/or healthcare industry and best practices as they relate to BI/DW.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• US government position. US citizenship required.
• Travel up to 25%

Preferences

• Minimum of eight years proven experience implementing business intelligence solutions in a large enterprise environment.
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to influence staff and management of internal and external IT partners.
• Solid technical skills and background needed to support the oversight of development and management of complex multi-platform BI/DW environments.
• Strong project/program management, customer service and conflict management skills that can be applied in providing support and direction to team members, key business and IT staff leading projects.
• MBA preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP)
• Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

This position is located in our Georgetown, TX office, just 30 minutes north of Austin.
